Pietrasanta is home to many monuments such as: the cathedral of San Martino, the church suspended to the cult of Sant’Agostino, the Torre delle Ore and the municipal theater.
Next to the arch of the door to Pisa is the Rocchetta Arrighina, while in the town square we can find the Marzocco fountain and the column of the same name, the Palazzo Panichi Carli and the Canapone (monument to Leopoldo II). Also worth seeing is the archaeological museum located in Palazzo Moroni.
The city, known as Little Athens, over the years has attracted many artists who have decided to settle there. Among the most famous are Igor Mitoraj and Fernando Botero of which we can admire the permanent sculptures: the Warrior by Botero and the Centaur and the Annunciation by Mitoraj.
Pietrasanta’s artistic vocation dates back to the working of marble, which here boasts a centuries-old tradition.
